Changing the font size

To change the font size you need to highlight the text first. Then click on the home toolbar tab. Manipulate the drop-down size next to the typeface drop-down selector.

There you have it. When you hover over the different sizes, Word preview the different sizes of the selected text. You can also hit Ctrl + Shift + P on your keyboard to open up a text dialog box wherein you can also manipulate the size of the text.



Changing the font colors

Highlight the desired text first. Then on the Home tab, and on the font section, look for an icon that has an "A" underlined in red. Click on that and it displays a drop-down palette of colors. As with the font size, when you hover over the individual colors, word will preview it automatically. Click on the desired color to apply it to the highlighted text. Your text color has changed!

As always, highlight the text desired. Then on the home tab, right next to the size field, click on the text field to reveal the choices of font faces. When you hover over these, Word will preview the text when the font face is applied. click on the desired font face to commit the changes. There you go! You have a new font face for your selected text.

Font Effects
This is the fun and creative part in using MS Word. Type some text in the document then highlight it. On the "Home" tab and on the lower right corner of the "Fonts" section, click on this icon shown here or hit Ctrl+d:

When this is clicked, a dialog box will appear. It looks like this:

Check any of the effects you like. You can make combinations by checking two or three effects! There is a preview field that previews the effects on the text. Click OK to apply the effect or effects to the text.
Now your on your way to wow people with text effects!
