Inserting and Formatting: Pictures.

|
If you do not prefer built-in clip art, then you can import pictures from your computer. Basically, you can do the same thing to an imported picture the way you do in clip art granting the image is of .jpeg, .png, .gif, or .bmp extensions.

Now what i normally do is drag the picture from the folder to the document. If you want to save the trouble of browsing for a picture from an explorer window, just go to the insert tab and on the Illustrations section, click the picture icon. It will open an import window to your pictures folder.

Select the picture you like to insert into the document and click "Insert".

Now you can format the picture the same way you can do in a clip art. Just right-click on the image or go to the Format tab (unless the image is selected). I will discuss in this post how to use the Format tab. You can determine the position of the image, be it left, center or right.

You can also apply some fancy picture frame effects! Just hover over the different styles in the "Picture Styles" section. Click on the image to view in full in a new window.

Text-wrapping is how the text would flow around the picture or if you want the picture to be behind the text.. Click the "text-wrap" icon on the "Arrange" section of the "Format" tab (granting that you have selected the picture to be formatted).
This is how it looks like when "Through" text-wrapping is selected. The text flows around the picture:

Now here, i've changed the brightness of the image and resized it to demonstrate the 'Behind Text" wrapping:

There you have it! I hope you found it useful!
