Inserting and Formatting: Diagrams

Autoshapes in Word 2007 is called SmartArt. SmartArt is usually used in depicting the flow of things, ideas, and processes through the use of charts and diagrams. You can insert Smart art when you go to Illustration section of the Insert tab. Click on the SmartArt button to reveal a dialog box.





Select the kind of SmartArt you prefer and click OK. Upon clicking OK, the Design and Format tab appears. You can choose from a variety of styles, change the color schemes or change the kind of flowchart altogether.
